The Secrets Of The Last Merfolk is a fantastic book, it manages to combine real life and that of fantasy in a way that makes you want to pull on your wellies and run down to the shore to find even a whisper of merfolk.
I love how an extremely Scottish fantasy novel addresses issues like sexism, and cares deeply for the environment while also having fun, and flicking on your imagination like a light switch.
I would recommend this book to people who have read and enjoyed Otters Moon and Guardians of the Wild Unicorns, and for anyone who needs inspiration to go down to the beach on a stormy day.
