Secondhand Books

Inside of a bookstore with shelves labeled 'Second Hand Books', filled with various books, some displayed on tables near the window, and a small table with brochures or flyers, a door in the back, and a green and yellow wall.

Discover Something Special

Alongside our range of new titles, we are proud to offer a carefully curated selection of second-hand books.

You’ll find Scottish history, local history, outdoor adventure guides, nature writing, railway books, and a smattering of fiction.

We also hold a small but lovely collection of antiquarian books for those seeking something a little rarer.

Our second-hand selection is always changing, with new titles arriving almost every day.

Buying and Donating Books

If you are looking to pass on a few gently used books, we would usually be happy to take a look. Books are accepted by appointment, or when a member of our team is available to assist, most often Sally.

When we buy books, we offer 25% of the resale price.
For example, if we would sell a book at £10, we can potentially offer you £2.50. Books can also be donated if you prefer.

We assess each book based on its condition, popularity, and how many copies we already hold.

Due to limited space, any books we cannot accept must be returned to the supplier or donator. There are many excellent local charities that will happily find them a home.
